Would you like to have Mass said?

As you know, each week we offer the mass for the intention of one of our parishioner families or any additional intentions which you ask us to remember. We are listing those intentions in the Parish Press, so you know when mass is for your family or your intention. If you would like to schedule a Mass for a special occasion, please do so early so your date will be guaranteed.

Please let me know if you have any intention you would like said at Mass. We have mass cards available if you would like to offer a card to someone for the scheduled Mass.

Monthly Healing Mass

Our healing service will be during mass on the Third Saturday of every month. This is a time to pray and ask the Lord for Spiritual, Emotional or Physical Healing. If you know someone who can't be with us, who may need this healing, you can come forward and be anointed and offer healing for that person.

Monthly Rosary

We will pray the rosary during the mass on the first Saturday of every month.   This is done at the request of Our Lady during her appearance at Fatima.  We especially pray for those in most need. If you cannot attend the     Rosary at Mass, it is recommended that you do so privately.

Prayers for Seminarians and for Vocations

The 2nd Saturday of each month is a “Vocation Prayer Day” and we say a vocation prayer that God will send more vocations to our Church and to our Parish. This world needs God’s laborers!

Liturgical Ministry

Members of the parish are always welcome to get involved in the Sunday Liturgy by becoming a Leader, Reader, Cross Bearer, Rosary Leader or decade prayer, Altar Server, Cantor, etc. Training will be given, so no reason to be afraid! Let the Archbishop know if you are interested in sharing in any of these ministries.

PRAYER LIST

During this mass please pray for those who are sick, struggling or in need of our prayers.

All those listed on the sick list will be kept on for two weeks, please let Archbishop Julius know if you would like them kept on longer.

Please pray for our loved ones and members of our parish family who are suffering and recovering, especially, Karen Schlegel Becker, Russ and Donna Rice, Dalila Martinez, Jim Lichtenwaldner, Tyson Glezman, Christopher Hunt, Bill Sacovics, William Lillis, Beth Fornicola, Jackie Abel, Bob McDole, all those who need prayer in their lives, especially Meghan, a friend of the Fracks.  Please pray for Lou Pany who is undergoing some serious issues and surgeries at 95 years of age.

We must pray for peace in the world, especially places where there is unrest and hatred. Please remember those in the Ukraine, Russia, Israel, the people of the Gaza strip and anywhere that there is suffering.

If you would like to have someone added to the list please see the Archbishop.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

We’re still looking for some prayer shawls to have available for those who are sick and suffering. Please let us know if you can make one or know someone who can! We do have several shawls available so if you are ill or recovering, please let us know.

Our next Rosary will be on May 4th. We will do the Joyful Mysteries.

Mass offered Pat and Christopher Hunt

Since our move to Christ Church requires us to set-up and take down everything we use for Mass – we ask everyone to try to get to Mass a little early and to plan on staying a little later to help take down.  This works very fast when we have enough help.

Reminder about inclement weather…

Throughout the year weather can be unpredictable… and we are always conscious of safety, considering the distance some people drive and the age and mobility of some of us (clergy included!) So, a reminder to check your email – we will make an announcement by 3:00 PM on Saturday afternoon if we are going to cancel mass – you can also call Archbishop Julius with any questions. And even if we do have mass, please be safe and make your own determination about attendance! We don’t want any accidents.

PRAY FOR THE UNBORN

Please pray for God’s will to be done and keep in mind that the only way that we can protect our innocent unborn brothers and sisters is through the power of prayer. Help us put an end to this horrific reality and save the lives of the unborn. Every child deserves a chance, every child deserves a life that only God can choose to end.

We cannot sit by and allow this to continue without strongly voicing our horror while some are strongly advocating legalizing abortions up the day of birth.

We must continue to pray for the Innocent souls of our precious children.

May these HOLY INNOCENTS, Through the mercy of God

Rest in peace.

From the Pastor

The Bible Story of the Ascension of Jesus, found in the first chapter of Acts, describes the ascent of Christ from the Earth to the Heavenly realm. According to Acts, the ascension of Jesus takes place 40 days after the Resurrection in the presence of his disciples. Christ is risen after advising them to stay in Jerusalem until the arrival of the Holy Spirit. As He rose, a cloud obscured Him from    their view, and two men in white arrived to tell them that he will return "in the same way you have seen him go into heaven."

The Ascension

Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight. They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white

stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.” (Acts 1:6-11)

When he had led them out to the vicinity of Bethany, he lifted up his hands and blessed them. While he was blessing them, he left them and was taken up into heaven. Then they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy. And they stayed continually at the temple, praising God. (Luke 24:50-53)

After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God. Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it. (Mark 16:19-20)

In Christian doctrine, the Ascension is correlated with the deification of Jesus, meaning that through His Ascension, Jesus took his seat at the right hand of God: "He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty."

Please pray for our Military and all of our first responders.

Please pray for the people of the Ukraine in their hour of need.

From the Pastor

Imagine being asked by our Lord to come with Him to the mountain. Naturally, we would agree and follow Him.  As we arrive, we are given a glance at the beauty and purity of Heaven. We would be overwhelmed and fearful, just like His disciples. Then, when we calm down, we would have a million questions or suggestions, just like the disciples did. Finally, a voice tells us that He is very pleased with His Son and that you should listen to Him. Again, fear and confusion.

The truth is, we have all heard these words, not from the sky, but from the Holy Scripture and from our hearts. The Father calls us to follow His son, without question, without fear and without discussion. The problem is that we don’t always listen.   This Lent we can really listen to the Word of our Father about His beloved Son. To attain everlasting life, we must open our hearts and embrace the Lord.  We must do so now, and we must do so with an open and loving heart.  We must be ready to follow our beloved Lord down the road to calvary so that we will be one with Him. In this way we can benefit from the Lord’s sacrifice and achieve the glory of Heaven.

Blessings,

 Archbishop Julius

We must pray for peace in the world, especially places where there is unrest and hatred. Please remember those in the Ukraine, Russia, Israel, the people of the Gaza strip and anywhere that there is suffering.

Prayer for Peace

Lord Jesus Christ, who are called the Prince of Peace, who are yourself our peace and reconciliation, who so often said, "Peace to you," grant us peace.

Make all men and women witnesses of truth, justice, and brotherly love.

Banish from their hearts whatever might endanger peace.

Enlighten our rulers that they may guarantee and defend the great gift

of peace.

May all peoples on the earth become as brothers and sisters. May longed for peace blossom forth and reign always over us all.

A Prayer for Peace & Calm

May today there be peace within.

May you trust your highest power that you are exactly where you are meant to be.

May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith.

May you use those gifts that you have received and pass on the love that has been given to you.

May you be content knowing you are a child of God.

Let this presence settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance. It is there for each and every one of you.

Amen.

This is a time for Prayer!
